Sandra Spraggins, Technology, Irwin Academic Center

Final Unit(pdf)   Implementing Teaching Standards(pdf)

Synopsis:

Throughout this unit, students will learn about, interpret data, and form conclusions on coral bleaching. Initially, students will become familiar with coral reefs and will review graphs and graphing. Within a learning team, students will see that such reefs serve as a factor in our world’s environment and that they can have either a positive or negative impact it. By looking at and interpreting live and past data, they can see how various ecosystems are being affected by global situations. Also, through participating in scientific discussions and technology based programs, students will be able to become more aware of their impact on these ecosystems and create a way to have a positive effect on their own future.
