How to Apply

Interested teachers who instruct students full-time in a CMS school and intend to continue teaching in CMS are eligible to become CTI Fellows. Teachers can participate in only one seminar each year, but may apply for up to three seminars to enhance their likelihood of acceptance. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply to at least two seminars. The CTI Admissions Committee (made up of CTI teacher leaders) considers a wide range of factors to create a diverse seminar group with teachers from a variety of grade levels, subject areas and schools.

Application instructions:

  1. Review guidelines on CTI Applications page.
  2. When ready to apply, go to the online seminar application at CTI SEMINAR APPLICATION
  3. Please read the instructions for each question carefully. Be sure to use your CMS Email Address in the first question.

Tips on the application process:

  1. Preview the Seminar Application Essay Questions.
  2. Create your application essays in a separate document and copy and paste them into the online application.  This ensures a backup as well as a copy for your future reference.
  3. Click “SUBMIT” only when your application is complete. You cannot return to your application after that.
  4. After submitting you will receive an email with a copy of your responses. Please keep this for your records.
  5. Apply to more than one seminar (a maximum of 3 seminars is allowed).  This increases your probability of being accepted. Be sure to select your intended seminar choice from the dropdown bar when entering each of your application essays.
  6. Write a 250-500 word essay for each seminar you apply to. Make sure your essay on each curriculum unit topic relates to the students and subject you teach. (Note: the application system requires a word count of 250-500.)
  7. Discuss your CTI applications with your principal.  This is an excellent opportunity to explore your teacher PD plans together.  Principal approval is required. When you submit your CTI application, your principal will immediately receive an email request to review and approve your application online.  NOTE:  Your principal may review and approve your application after the application deadline.  In other words, you are still eligible if you submit your application before the deadline, but your principal doesn’t approve your application until after the deadline.

IMPORTANT:  Make sure you are able to meet CTI Eligibility and Seminar Meeting Schedule requirements.
