Synopsis
This unit has students thinking about and discussing exactly what it means to be an American. It leaves the answer open ended because being an American and the values of an American are different for everyone. This unit discusses the development through political events and the language leaders use in the documents they create to define America. This unit features a number of different C3 model inquiries that are designed to be completed at the end of each unit in American History I.
