Synopsis
The key purpose of this curriculum unit is to teach information about clouds, cloud types, and weather associated with cloud types to upper elementary students. Understanding clouds and their connections to weather is an important element in understanding climate science. This curriculum unit will assist fifth grade students in developing knowledge about weather. This increased knowledge will have a direct impact on their understanding of North Carolina science standards. The curriculum unit will also spark interest in the natural world that will build towards a deeper future interest in climate science.
