Synopsis:
This curriculum unit is designed to have students study how the concept of nationalism can create the sense of an “other.” Students will be presented with case studies of the former Yugoslavia and South Africa’s development of nationalism and will be directed to create connections to their own nationalism and treatment of the “other.”
