Synopsis

In this curriculum unit, students will combine mindfulness strategies with poetry reading and writing. Students will analyze figurative language, structure and perspective through poems, then write their own pieces. Students will also learn to be present by focusing on breath and their emotions. In the end, students will create a portfolio of their finished work, and celebrate with a poetry reading.
