CTI is made possible by a cooperative partnership among UNC Charlotte, Davidson College, and CMS. Each institution has committed financial and personnel resources with the confidence that the Institute will strengthen education in our district.

Effective educational improvement strategies must include local partnerships among preK-12 and higher education institutions and effective teacher development programs. CTI offers both by capitalizing on the wealth of enthusiasm, knowledge, creativity, and leadership that exists within the Charlotte educational community – across CMS grade-levels and schools, and among public and private colleges and universities.

The Charlotte Teachers Institute puts teachers first by recognizing that they have been and always will be learners, and by connecting them with other teachers in the district and on campuses of higher learning. CTI works to engage and challenge our teachers intellectually, encourage individual and collaborative creativity, retain the best and most dedicated CMS teachers, and foster relationships within the entire educational community. And by impacting teachers, CTI will impact the ways in which our students learn and grow.
